Entryway Paint Transformation

It's interesting how we associate our experiences with different colors. This modern build from 2008 had what I refer to as "cowboy" or "western" browns and tans throughout as a color pallet for the entire home. Needless to say, these browns did not do much to showcase the architecture and modern finishes like the steel, rich dark woods and tile throughout. It is also safe to say that the homeowner was definately "not feeling it".

Working with the homeowner, we decided on a color pallet that better showcases the entryway and can be used as a jumping off point for additional rooms throughout the home on a later date. The decision was made to use a deep saturated slate green color to accent the stairway and add interest to the entryway. A warm gray or oyster color was used in place of the outdated neutral tan tone as the neutral backdrop to the slate green accent. The result? Good-bye Home on the Range, Hello Sleek Modern Home (and one very happy homeowner to boot)!
